Sigil Creation Table
(Found this on tumblr, so I don’t know the original source for the table and can’t be arsed to find it. Aha! Magic square of Saturn, designed by Sangroan. Use accordingly.)
I just love the sigils that this method produces! They look like Real Magix™, like Solomonian symbols or angelic script or something equally arcane and soul tarnishing
Have fun, play safe, and don’t let the goetics bite!

My name looks like a lady with a Category 9 boner that will totes poke your eye out. WHAT DOES IT MEEEEEAN???

Squee! OMG! Thank you, I printed it out even before I read what you’d written about it. Now THIS will be FUN!
MAAAAH-velous! Use only as not directed
Interesting simplified way to do it. I know you’ve looked into sigils, doesn’t this seem like half the process?
Weeell… you don’t put as much of your own energy into the creation of the sigils, so you’d have to do more work on them after (charging, which I achieve by tracing them over and over again with my finger). I think it’s a helpful tool for instances when you don’t have time to “properly” create a sigil or for people to whom the manipulation and prettification of random lines doesn’t come naturally. I’ll also be the first to admit that I believe in doing what works, rather than what’s “right” and a lot (a LOT) of the rules surrounding the One True Way to practise magic seem like superfluous
dick swingingposturing to me.Below is the the sigil for a certain unstoppable bunny brand of battery that I thought might be viable for use in the creation of my personal Power battery. These sigils remind me very much of circuitry, so to my mind they are a) immediately identifiable and relatable to the modern mind, and b) inherently channel power by virtue of their appearance.
Your mileage may vary
They do have a resemblance to a circuit board, don’t they?
You’re right, I shouldn’t be so rigid, I tend to adhere far too much to rules. I guess I haven’t done enough practical work with them to find my own comfort zone there.
And I could probably do with a bit more rule-abiding. TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY!
Okay, call me completely dense, but I don’t understand how you’re getting the sigil from all of this. I understand converting the letters to numbers with that handy chart. But how the eff do you get those shapes from tracing the numbers in the second chart? Do you just draw a line from one number to the next? =/
You’re not dense – that’s exactly what you do! It took me a minute or five to figure it out, but then I looked at the example sigils and realised how simple it is. The little “bumps” are when you get a doubling-up of a number.
Ah, okay, I get it now. Cool! It seems as though I’ve seen/done this before, in a dream, or some other lifetime, it’s so foggy! So… what does one *do* with a sigil? (I’m getting excited, learning something new!)
Keep stuff in, keep stuff out; welcome, banish; nurture, destroy; connect, deflect – whatever you want, really
At its core, a sigil is a focus and the more focus you give it, the more power it gains (very much like a talisman). Like any symbol, it is what you make it.
This method of creating sigils isn’t the “traditional” way, but when it comes to chaos magic I don’t know how much stock I put in “tradition”. I believe ChM to be more flexible and user-friendly than High Magic; more adaptable to the needs of the practitioner. That’s not to say you shouldn’t go and read absolutely everything you can find to see what other people have done and what works for them. More that I view “tradition” like a tarot deck LWB – read it, learn it, then listen to what the magic is telling you.
Hmmm, interesting. Obviously, I am a complete novice here. Any recommended reading to get me started? Blogs? Books? Whatever?
If I may, this little presentation I ran across seems like a good intro/overview, but not too basic http://www.apolo.net/Classes/Sigils/sigil1_pres.pdf
Your Google-fu is stronger than mine
Where/however did you find that? It’s quite wonderful!

Thanks for letting me know! I have updated the post to reflect your dA as the source of this table. Even using Google image search didn’t turn up a result, and it’s usually pretty good at finding dA sources!
