Deity Relationship Spread & Reading
This is an original spread designed by Catherine/Lucifer’s PA, with modifications to tailor it to my understanding and aims. The purpose of the spread/reading is to examine a deity relationship from the beginning stages, to the present condition and future possibilities. (Following the link will take you to the expanded spread, which delves further into each party’s contributions to the relationship, sacrifices etc.)
I’ve been wondering about where I stand with Hekate for a while. My (very basic) practice fell by the wayside when my depression took over, my shrine to Her standing abandoned. I’ve been free and clear for more than a year now and want to pick up the relationship again mpstly because I found it satisfying and partly because, despite my failings (in my eyes), She has still made significant contributions to my journey and it seems She is not done with me yet. An oracular reading by Antonella at Seastruck confirmed that I’ve wandered off the path a bit, but all is not lost.
Catherine’s spread came at the perfect time.
The first layout I did with Her deck – the World Spirit Tarot – and it was so gosh darn *positive* that I believed it couldn’t possibly be accurate. The second time around with the Sirian Starseed Tarot
was equally reassuring and it *blew my mind* with the obvious patterns – I actually sat back and went, “Wow” out loud. The longer I looked at it, the more connections appeared; these are included in the notes below. Explaining this reading gave me that blocked sensation I get when I’m not supposed(?) to reveal all the details, so I’ve included basic key phrases only in the card interpretations.

[1] My perception of Her - 5 of Flames

[2] Her perception of me - 14 Alchemy
Potential for change into something more than the sum of its parts; I could withstand the fire
[3] Foundation of our relationship - 3 of Flames
Her twin torches; Her three ways; guiding light; follow that flame
Present:
[4] Her role in the relationship - 8 of Crystals
Carefully, slowly constructing a path towards structure
[5] Her expectations of me - Adept of Chalices
SWIM; adapt; I have given you your element – use it
[6] My role in the relationship - Ace of Flames
New; potential; beginning; I have attained the torch I sought in the 3 of Flames
[7] My expectations of Her - 10 The Great Wheel
I expect Her to change me
[8] Our relationship - 7 of Crystals
Stasis; turning point; feelings of failure; is this going anywhere?
(Potential) Future:
[9] Her role in the relationship - 16 The Tower
Take down what is no longer needed
[10] Her expectations of me - Master of Chalices
Develop; face the challenge and reach the pinnacle of abilities
[11] My role in the relationship - 8 of Flames
Momentum; be my own change; fuel my own fire; spinning in place
[12] My expectations of Her - 5 of Crystals
Challenge; She will take away what She has given me if I don’t succeed
[13] Our relationship - Seeker of Chalices
Joyous immersement; questing
[14] Ultimate purpose of this relationship - 10 of Orbs
Opening new pathways; rejecting false reflections; leaving fragile constructs behind
How to achieve this:
[15] Path 1 - 9 of Chalices
Acceptance & recognition of options/riches before me
[16] Path 2 - Ace of Crystals
Start over with a different focus
[17] The path not to take - 4 of Crystals
Sitting on your ass and doing nothing; getting stuck
[18] Quint - 2 Higher Self

Oh I so need to do this!
Have you found time yet? Would be veeeeery interesting to use the Ghosts & Spirits, I think.
I have. I did it for Zeus and my Lady using their dedicated decks. Ma’at has claimed the ghosts and spirits deck. It is over on my ADF – DP blog: http://oakenscrolls.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/zeusday-divination/
This is a really great spread, and accurate! I love your reworking.
I did the first with the Pythagorean tarot and was surprised by how deep it was. I’m going to do it again with the Divine Arcana (the Aurum Solis Tarot), which is a different kind of tarot system, and see how they compare.
Thank you for posting this!
Ohhh, the Pythagorean! I have this deck (and book), but don’t feel ready to use it yet. One day down the road, when I’ve _really_ earned my esoteric stripes, I’ll take it for a spin.
It’s really not that bad. It’s a deck that you’re able to grow with, and remains my favorite one- it has new dimensions to it the more I use it.
